Hello! Welcome to TopAsiaFX. I am Agent Merina, your dedicated support assistant. How can I help you today?

Exness doesn't sell a separate "Islamic account" as its own product. Instead, swap-free trading works as a status applied to your entire profile, and how it applies depends heavily on where you're registered and how you trade.

It's a bit more layered than a simple toggle, so it's worth understanding how it actually functions before assuming it covers everything.

For a deeper look at Exness as a broker, its regulation, fees, and real user experiences, this Exness review from TopAsiaFX is worth reading.

If You're Registered in an Islamic Country

Accounts registered from Islamic countries get swap-free status automatically, no application needed. This version is the most complete: every trading instrument on the account carries zero swap, full stop, regardless of what you're trading or how long you hold it.

Registered Elsewhere

This is where it gets more specific. For accounts outside Islamic countries, Exness offers two tiers, Standard Swap-free and Extended Swap-free. Extended is granted by default to eligible accounts, and it covers a wider list, more than 20 forex pairs across majors and minors, along with gold, indices, cryptocurrencies, and stocks.

Standard Swap-free, which some accounts get downgraded to, covers a narrower set, mainly gold, indices, cryptocurrencies, and stocks, with swaps still applying to most forex minors and exotic pairs.

Either way, this status is different from the full, everything-covered version given to accounts in Islamic countries, and the two can't be converted into each other.

How You Get the Islamic Account?

Here's the part that surprises a lot of people: this isn't something you apply for once and keep permanently. Exness uses an algorithm that monitors trading behavior, mainly how long you hold positions and how much of your volume happens overnight, to decide whether an account qualifies for Extended status.

If your activity looks more like arbitrage, holding positions specifically to avoid swap costs rather than trading normally, your status can drop to Standard without you requesting the change. The reverse can also happen automatically if your trading pattern shifts back to something more typical.

Checking Your Own Status

You can see exactly where you stand by logging into your Personal Area, heading to Settings, and checking the Trading Conditions or Swap-free level section. Exness also sends a notification if your status changes, so you're not left guessing.

What This Means If You're Muslim and Trading From a Non-Islamic Country?

If your country isn't classified as an Islamic country in Exness's system, you don't get the full zero-swap treatment automatically, you get whichever swap-free tier your trading activity qualifies for instead.

This is a detail worth being aware of if you're trading from somewhere like the UK, the US, or much of Europe and were expecting the same full coverage that traders in Muslim-majority countries receive by default.

Not Every Instrument is Covered

Regardless of which tier applies to you, some instruments still carry a swap even under swap-free status, generally certain exotic pairs, energies, and specific metals outside gold.

It's worth checking Exness's contract specifications page for any instrument you're planning to hold overnight, rather than assuming swap-free status means zero cost across the board.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

  • Swap-free doesn't guarantee full Sharia compliance on its own. Removing interest is one requirement, but genuine compliance also involves avoiding excessive speculation and uncertainty, so it's worth looking beyond the swap-free label if that's your actual goal.
  • Your status can change without warning if your trading pattern shifts, so it's worth checking your Trading Conditions tab periodically rather than assuming Extended status is locked in permanently.
  • If you're holding positions long-term specifically because they're swap-free, that's the exact pattern the monitoring algorithm is built to catch, so it's worth trading in a way that reflects genuine strategy rather than fee avoidance.
  • Don't assume your country classification is what you expect. If you're unsure whether you fall under the Islamic-country or non-Islamic swap-free system, checking your Personal Area directly is more reliable than guessing based on your religion or intentions alone.
