Vault Markets offers one of the wider ranges of bonus accounts available among South African brokers, with three active tiers: 100%, 200%, and 400% on deposits. All bonus accounts share the same R100 minimum deposit and instant withdrawals, but each tier comes with its own rules, and it is important to know exactly how the credit works before you pick one.

The bonus lands in your account as a credit. It is not cash and cannot be withdrawn on its own. What it does is give you more breathing room to hold positions. Once it is in the account, it stays until one of the removal triggers is hit.

How the Bonus Accounts Work?

All three bonus accounts (VAULT 100, VAULT 200, VAULT 400) run on the same core structure. Here is what you need to understand before you open one:

Topic How It Works
What the Bonus Is A credit added to your equity. It cannot be withdrawn and is not part of your real balance. It gives you more room to hold trades open.
Maximum Bonus Cap R300,000 combined across VAULT 100 and VAULT 200. If the bonus exceeds this, an automated correction runs and may affect open positions.
Margin Calculations Do not include the bonus in your margin calculations. The account shows margin as a percentage of equity, not balance. Your P/L must never fall below your actual deposited balance.
Withdrawals Withdrawing any funds removes a proportional amount of bonus credit equal to the promotional percentage of what you took out. A full withdrawal removes the full bonus.
Internal Transfers Not allowed on bonus accounts. Any transfer request cancels the bonus.
Negative Balance If your balance goes negative, it is zeroed by the system and the bonus is removed at the same time. Losses first eat into your deposit, then into the bonus. Once the position closes, whatever bonus remains is automatically cancelled.
Stop-Out Stop-out triggers when margin falls below 40%. When this happens, negative balance protection kicks in, the remaining bonus is removed, and the account balance resets to zero. Vault Markets takes no responsibility for losses caused by stop-out after bonus removal.
Bonus After Stop-Out Once a stop-out removes the bonus, it will not be re-credited. You would need to deposit again and open a new bonus account.
Expiry Bonus accounts carry expiry dates. Check your account for the specific date. If you have open trades close to expiry, make sure you have enough real equity to hold them without the credit.
No-Bonus Option If you would rather trade without any of these restrictions, VAULT NO BONUS is available from the same dashboard. It carries no bonus conditions at all.
Quick Take: The 400% tier is the most aggressive offer here and the riskiest to misread. On a R1,000 deposit you would have R5,000 in equity on paper, but R4,000 of that is credit that disappears the moment your P/L dips below your real balance. The wider your bonus, the faster a small losing run can trigger a removal event. The 100% tier is the more forgiving entry point for traders who want the extra room without overextending.

What Happens in Different Situations?

  • You deposit R1,000 on a VAULT 100 account. You receive R1,000 in bonus credit, giving you R2,000 in equity. Your real balance is R1,000. You can trade using the full R2,000 as margin, but if your P/L drops below zero relative to your deposit, the bonus is removed. You keep the credit for as long as your real balance stays healthy.
  • You want to withdraw R500 from a VAULT 200 account. With a 200% bonus, withdrawing R500 removes R1,000 worth of bonus credit (200% of the withdrawn amount). If that removal pushes your free margin too low, open trades may be stopped out. Plan withdrawals carefully if you have positions running.
  • Your losses eat through your deposit and start hitting the bonus. Once your real balance reaches zero, further losses are deducted from the bonus. When the position closes, whatever bonus is left is automatically removed. Your account balance then resets to zero with nothing remaining.
  • You place a trade using an EA you normally use on another account. EA trading is not permitted on bonus accounts. If the system picks it up, the account is disabled and the profits from those trades can be reversed. It does not matter whether the EA was profitable or not.
  • You want to move funds from a bonus account to another Vault Markets account. Internal transfers cancel the bonus immediately. If you need to move funds, close out your positions first and factor in that the bonus will be removed as soon as you initiate the transfer.

How to Open a Bonus Account?

  1. Register and Verify: Create your Vault Markets account and complete the identity verification process.
  2. Pick Your Tier: From your client dashboard, select VAULT 100, VAULT 200, or VAULT 400 depending on the bonus level you want. Note that VAULT 400 is only available for a limited time.
  3. Deposit a Minimum of R100: VAULT MICRO accepts R50 if you are starting smaller.
  4. Bonus Credit: The bonus is credited automatically. You will see the credit appear in your equity. Check the expiry date before you open any positions.
  5. Start Trading: Only manual trades on allowed instruments. No EAs, no scalping, no hedging across accounts.
